after pouring in my apple juice and pitching my yeast, I've been waiting for 2 days to see some action in my airlock, but to no avail. After closer inspection, I've realised that my primary bucket has a couple of small holes! When I press on the lid, I can hear the air escaping. I've taped them up as much as possible, and used some quick dry glue, but still no action from the airlock.

Should I be worried? Any suggestions?

no.
fermentation takes place whether or not it's sealed.
i suggest you let it ferment, then when it's done, or about done, rack to something that does seal, preferably glass, and has minimal headspace.
