Bagged up my bulk hops into 4oz bags. I couldn't resist posting this

I think I'm going to vacuum seal custom sized bags with the entire pound of hops. Then I can cut it open, use what I need, and then reseal them.

Got a couple pounds of Simcoe so that one will get 2 bags.

I do 4oz bags but I make the bags about 2x bigger than need. So i can cut and reseal them at least 4 times.

Nice! I got 6 lbs on the way.. Gonna be a ton of work to vacuum seal

Ya, that's about how much I did (7lbs). I definitely recommend doing 4oz bags, 1 or 2oz bags would get tiring really fast.

Nice, thanks for the tip!

Actually updated to 7lbs as well, figure should be enough for a year or more. What varieties did you get? Mine were:

Hops Direct - US Saaz (1lb), Colombus (1lb), Cascade (1lb)
Northern Brewer - Amarillo (1lb), Ahtanum (1lb), Citra (1lb), Simcoe (16x1oz - someone grabbed the last 1lb right before me, had it in my cart and everything!!)

Cheers

I do 1 pound vacuum bags because if I did 4oz it would take up a huge volume of space (like the OP's pic) in the freezer, and my wife would divorce me. Whereas with the 1-lb bags I can fit 6-7 lbs in the back corner of the freezer and it's not a huge deal. I do pack extra bag on the end so I can open/reseal them many times before I need to worry about it.
