Proper pronunciation - Fuggles

Hello

Up until now I had only read the word Fuggles, and assumed it was pronounced "Fiugles", where the "U" sounds the same as in "bugle".

Then I went to my LHBS, and the owner pronounced it more like "Fogles", with much less emphasis on the "U" sound, somewhat like the word "Boggle".

How is it properly pronounced? Just curious, hope this makes sense.

Yeah it's like the non-magical people from Harry Potter only it starts with an F.

At least that's the way I say it.

How bou't carboy? I've got a friend that insists on calling it a car-buoy. Isn't it simply a car followed by a boy?

I always say car followed by boy.

Both are German. As for Perle, the way you pronounce it probably has a lot to do with how you pronounce "Porsche."

I have come to the conclusion that I pronounce at least 50% of brewing terminology incorrectly.
