I found an antique mill in the local classifieds...

Think it would work for crushing barley provided its adjustable?

I know nothing about antique grain mills. That said, that is a very cool piece of industrial hardware. From the looks of it, power shouldn't be an issue!

Have you plugged it in, tossed some (a little) grain in the hopper and turned it on? I would be too curious not to. If so, what happened? Not that I'm about to offer you intelligent advice whether you have or not. . .

Looks like it will be fun to fiddle with. Congrats!
 
I haven't pulled the trigger on it yet but for the price I just might buy it for ****s and giggles
 
It's probably to grind into flour. It's probably got blades inside. I don't think it would be much use for crushing grain
 
I think I'm agreeing with JRems. This looks like a flour mill. We are really looking for a "crush" rather than a fine grind which this will more than likely give you.
