After serving in the Army, and working as a CPA I finally got it figured out.

Fertilize pasture, then mow

Live sound engineer. Somehow I've made a career out of it, it also allows me I taste many a free beer, but doesn't allow much time for home brewing. Im still always experimenting when I'm not traveling 10 months of the year.

Seems like most people are Engineers of some sort on here, I myself am an Engineering Technology student at Purdue, just wondering what profession everyone is. Just trying to see if there are any correlations between professions and brewing!
Thanks!

Electrical Engineer, Purdue 1996-2000. Go Boilers!

I've seen this question come up on brewing forums over and over and over again. Bear in mind that any online forum tends to get a lot of engineers and IT related folks, whether it's beer-related or any other topic. I used to be a part of a forum for owners of a particular motorcycle, and it seems it was heavily populated by engineers and IT folks.

So there may be a correlation between professions and homebrewing. But trying to determine that based upon populations in online homebrewing forums isn't exactly accurate.

I'm an RN with an engineering degree in crap! Work 3 12hr night shifts a week. SWMBO is also a night nurse so plenty a night spent brewing in the garage here in Fl.

I suspect this, also. From my homebrew club, there are some engineers but not many. A mix of professionals, business folk, tradesmen, scientists and a few engineers.

I think I answered this before, but if not - I'm a non-profit administrator/manager, directing the major giving programs for a university foundation.

Director of an autism life skills group based at a private hospital.

I've spent time as, professional paintball player (pay sucks, I did the next 4 jobs to keep myself afloat while playing pb), bartender, bouncer, fry jockey, radio dj, sandwich artist, welder, counselor at the high school and college levels, photographer, lawn services, chauffer/personal assistant. facultynet IT dept at local college, sound technician.

Med school is an expensive venture I've worn a lot of hats to get to where I am now.

Finance. Bachelors of Science - Electrical Contractor's son who was great cheap labor. Ranch Hand- worked on a shrimp boat on weekends to pay for college. And about any other kind of grunt work you can think of...Oh..don't forget rookie home brewer.

Computer Engineer Monday through friday 8-5, Gardener, I design boards and little electrical projects in my spare time, play music sometimes at bars with friends, Hot Sauce Producer most of the rest of the time, beer brewer with my remaining time.

Most recently became a Process Engineer for a tier 1 automotive supplier. We supply instrument panel beams to pretty much everyone, but Toyota.

Urban planner for private firm, then worked for the Navy on the Potomac... now a stay-at-home dad taking care of my 2-year-old daughter while my wife brings home the bacon (an RN). Brewing beer is about 1000% more satisfying and less stressful than my old job was, and seeing my baby become a little girl is priceless.

Did 2 years of Mech engineering back in university. I think it was the beer that flushed me out by the second year :drunk: Now I'm in the army working with sat comm equipment. Mean green drinking machines! :rockin:

well - i haven't read through the whole post- but it doesn't seem like too many pornographic film actors home brew...

Lots of engineers here but not me... I work on a taco truck

Getting my degree in econ this year though so here's to looking forward:mug:
