How long do fresh ground grains last?

I think if your just steeping them age isnt as important. Keep them in sealed bag and store them in a dark cool place like basement.

I've had some sitting around for a month (in Florida) in a sealed bag with no ill effects. As long as the moisture doesn't get to them, they should be fine.
