Was curious what everyone has done with the sphere when they removed it from the keg when they convert it to a keggle?

I imagine using it for a siphon some how, but other then I have not came up with anything, suggestions ?

Do you mean sphere -- as in a ball or orb -- or spear -- as in the dip tube in the sanke? Some people use the spear as the handle for a home made stainless steel mash paddle.

If you are talking about the actual top of the keg (which is kind of a sphere) I have seen people use them for a false bottom

I re-purposed the spear or downtube from my keggle as a sight glass protector.

Mine is a +3 Mace of Intoxication!

Kidding, I like the sightglass protector. You can chop off a inch or so and use it to rack off of the yeast cake if you ferment in the keg. Pretty much anything you want to do with it though.
