I have a blow off tube that has sat for about ten days attached to my primary.

I racked to secondary, and am trying to clean my blow off tube. I soaked it in oxyclean last night and no luck.

any suggestions?

I use an overnight soak in bleach water.

I also use beer line cleaner from national chemical to flush out all my hoses before sanitizing & syphoning. Beer line cleaner will not scrub stubborn spots off of hoses. I mainly use it on syphon hoses that will do double-duty on brew day. Not to mix heffe yeasts / british bitters.

Nation Chem Inc. (BTF Idophor Makers):

The line cleaner I use:

Try a small wooden dowel w/ a tiny piece of rag taped on the end...or straighten a coat hanger and tape small rag / paaper towel on the end. Clean it like you would the barrel of a rifle.

You could use pipe cleaners to scrub it. If you go to a hardware store they should have ones in various sizes, rather than the colored ones used by primary school children.

For my blow off lines I tie a string to my straight carboy cleaning brush, not the one that is L shapped. Then pull the brush through a couple of times after the hose has been sitting in a oxiclean solution for a little while.

Use a bigger tube in smaller sections? Very easy to clean
