Speaking of heading home, Cheeto and I shipped EVERYTHING!!! Makes customs a breeze to only have a couple changes of clothes and a laptop on the freedom flight.

The new beer of the month, the dead guy is just mine :)

Opened the Bavarian Hefe from gmds123. In the attached letter is says that he used Wyeast Weihenstephaner. This was bottled in a 1 liter swing top on 8/29. Poured to a fluted pint glass.

Beer pours nice with a great creamy head that slowly dissipates to a thick lacing that lasts through the whole pint.

This is a great weizen. Very nicely balanced with good mouthfeel. Banana and citrusy with a very slight clove finish.

Thanks for sharing this Bryan, this is a great beer. I really hope to see you share the recipie and link it here.

Thanks Bryan!!! :mug:

Today the UPS guy stopped by my house,

He was yelling at the house from the sidewalk, because he couldn't get my front gate open.

Saccharomyces, thank you very much for the brews.

It looks to be an amazing collection.

I'm sorry, I havn't been keeping up here for the last couple weeks well. My wife kicked me out of the house and I'm currently living in my office at the station. Cheeto, thanks for the support. I'm sure you can go ahead and change me over to the volunteers section now tho.

Saccharomyces - Wow, thanks and what a great selection! I really appreciate you sharing the chiller too! I wish I could post pics for everyone else to see but I will put the chiller to work real soon and post then. Thanks Sacc, I really appreciate it!

I'll be home the beginning of Feb 2010...just in case you want to update this.
I'm looking forward to trying everybodys, but I'm also looking forward to get on the volunteer list and share my meager attempts!

Can we please put together a list of volunteers who actually did something in this thread?

Nevermind, I see the legend now

I'd like to get in on this, have beer awaiting my arrival home and then volunteer to give some homebrew to the next service member. I am in Iraq till mid April 2010.

I should be home by 15 Jan.

I'm excited for you MP!
I will be on leave for my 14 days around that time. I plan on brewing up a big impy stout while I'm home with a friend. Then its back to Iraq for a few more months.:rockin:
I will be back home in time for the National Homebrewers Conference. I gota go since it will be in my back yard this year.

haha, funny!
We always come here for 6 months...life at a bomber base does that!
I'll probably be back here in Jan 2011....DAMN, this is starting to get old!

Thanks travesty!

I opened up 2 of my homebrews from the fridge last night; the first was undercarbed and the second was ok. This morning I just opened up one that had sat in the basement all year with no refrigeration and it tastes great.

Nice Beer Porn MP! I Just got back from leave and now im back in the worlds armpit. That Bourbon County Stout drinks very nice. I got an extra one to age a bit as well. I also made up a batch of Ed's Apflewein while home. I got to visit HBT Seabee John's place and see some amazing brew rigs in action. https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f20/3rd-annual-n-st-paul-brew-together-151851/
Glad to hear people are getting back home! I will be back in the Spring.
