I am about to bottle my Irish Stout (extract kit from Northern Brewer).

I have 5 oz of priming sugar from Norther Brewers. How much of the sugar should I use?

My first beer was a Nut Brown Ale and it was a little too carbonated for my liking (5 oz priming sugar). However, 5 oz seemed to work well for my Cream Ale.

Any suggestions?

my first suggestion is to use the search function.

second, did you allow your first beer to finish carbonating all the way or did you start drinking them after a week?

third, you can use this to taylor your carbonation to your liking.

Drank first one at 3 weeks, but didnt drink most until after 5 or 6 weeks (cream ale). For nut brown ale, it has been a couple of months.

:D

The math works. Plug in the info, get a result. The days of "3/4 cup corn sugar" were over ten years ago!
