hello HBT board! i have brewed about 4 extract kits and have been somewhat happy with the results. i think i want to take the leap into AG very soon.

i am somewhat confused about what will need to be done in the AG process. what is the difference btwn steeping the grains that come with a extract kit vs the lautering/mashing process? also, are hop pellets used in the AG process? futhermore, will i need to drop some dough on some new hardware? here is what i currently own:

2 fermenters (plastic)
1 bottling bucket
turkey fryer

any feedback is appreciated. thanks!

Hopping is no different.
Nor is fermentation process.
The big changes are all pre-boil.
Longer boils will probably be needed to concentrate the wort.

You will need a mash tun and probably a larger kettle, 8-10 gallons.

The amount of money you need to spend depends on how much you have.
