Mesquite Pods!

I'm interested in seeing what type of recipe you come up with to use these in!

I'm thinking a basic pale ale at first, and then a "smoked" porter made with lapsang souchong tea (and maybe I'll smoke some mesquite pods on the grill, too).

I've done many trades in the last two years here before the trade rating. I did a mesquite wheat last year that was great. This year I'm planing a fall saison, a dubbel, more wheat as well as a smoked porter mentioned above. I will be smoking them over mesquite wood and the recipe will include mesquite honey as well. I realize the wheat doesn't fit in with the GF thing but I'm just reporting what is possible. Also in my thread about them, there is a link I posted for the Zymurgy article from 2002 that describes the preparation process.

To all those that were intertested and worked out trade with me -
Pods are in the mail today, open them outside in case any bruchid beetles emerge.
I’m not sure if you’ve read into it or not but mesquite pods get used by the bruchid beetle to lay their eggs in the beans within the pods to produce offspring.
