So I brewed the Boundary Waters Wheat extract kit from Midwest Supplies. At flame out I added 1 pound of local honey. After 7 days, I racked it to the secondary. The beer looks terrible; it is a dark red-orange. It looks just like rusty water that comes out of old pipes. The trub on the bottom of the primary was thicker, thick like red clay, and nastier than any I have ever seen. The beer has a very sharp smell to it, not skunky or spoiled, just sharp. Could the added honey have caused this? Has anyone experienced anything like this?
