Galvanized isn't something you necessarily want touching your beer.
At hot temps, it tends to leech zinc, which though it isn't going to kill you, it could create some odd flavors if there's enough of it.
You could use brass though, just pickle it before you do.

in addition to all of the above, as soon as the galvanization is scratched it wills start to rust. and welding galvanized metals produces a toxic vapor that causes http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metal_fume_fever
