I'm in the process of getting my new system up and running. I'm using a sanke for my HLT. Had the boys at work weld me some couplings on it, and I'm wondering... Would it be ok to use galvanized fittings on that bad boy?

Galvanized isn't something you necessarily want touching your beer.
At hot temps, it tends to leech zinc, which though it isn't going to kill you, it could create some odd flavors if there's enough of it.

You could use brass though, just pickle it before you do.

Galvanized fittings also have, may have, a bit of cadmium in the zinc, which is toxic.
