i just brewed a kolsch, and am currently drinking the first one right now.

my question is what commercial style beer is the closest to a kolsch? i know i have drank something similar to this before but can not put my finger on it.

goose island summertime, summit kolsch, reissdorf (german one that seems common in america)

Stop by your International beer store pick up and try Gaffel Kolsch. Kolsch is a beer style of Cologne Germany. The name Kolsch is protected by law. That's why you won't find a production beer called a Kolsch outside of Germany. This was done because the term Pilsner was raped for all its worth, especially in North America and thru out the world with any type of island swill being called a Pilsner today.
