Now my next question is about pumps, I've been looking at March magnetic drive pumps and Little giant pumps. What models do you use? how do you like them?

Anyone know the head material that is suitable for pumping hot wort?

I've been looking at this Pump on ebay but I'm not sold

I have March for brewing. Zero problems. The Little Giant pump I use in the aging cabinet is not designed for hot water.

I use a March pump - works great as long as you're not pumping higher than about 5 feet. Also, March pumps are not self priming, so you'll typically need to locate the pump lower than the source so that gravity will feed the pump inlet.

We are having this conversation in the RV pump thread in Sanitation and Equipment.

Here is my post from over there.

I used this pump.

It says 160F max, but you can get a high temp kit for it. Even without the kit I have never had a problem. It has a rubber impeller and a SS and brass pumping cavity. NO PLASTIC !

This pump is variable speed on a dimmer switch and its totally self priming.

Its a great pump for the job.
