I tried the scoby candy recipe in Art of Fermentation.
and then started googling -
apparently you can thinly slice scoby and stir fry it.

Any other ways to eat the extra scobies?

Interesting. As a vegetarian, cutting up the scoby was gross - as it reminded me of raw chicken. And I couldn't really get away from that to really enjoy the end result.

But if someone else made it and gave it to me - I would assume that it was just a homemade gummy candy. Nothing nefarious (or however you spell that).

My husband, who usually eats whatever I tell him to - couldn't try it either. It's totally a mental thing though - cuz the actual candy is pretty normal/good.

If you try it, I'd recommend some flavoring (ginger/lemon seems to be the recommended) - as it's very bland.

You can also dry them and grind them, sprinkle on food with salt/pepper, etc. My dogs love when I have super thick ones to dry out...they like to chew and eat them.
