Used a 25ft immersion chiller up until I got my HERMS coil going. They work great! Have fun with it!

'its a coil that goes in your HLT. You pump your Wort thru it during the mash process and is heated by the hot water in the HLT.

Drain your HLT. Fill it with bags of ice and some water and you got a chiller. Easier than a single girl on valentines day.

What ya can do is use both a chiller and your heat exchanger to cool your brew. That way while the cold water is running thru your chiller that's submerged in your hot wort, that same hot wort gets pumped through the cold HEX.
