Are their clone recipes for these beers?

My girlfriend and I really liked these and were wondering if there was a clone or original recipe available for them.

1. Fraoch Heather Ale

2. Mark Altenmunster Maibock

These are the two we like the most but have 9 more brands/bottles to try so we might have others soon. We are new to homebrewing and have our first one in fermentation right now and have a positive outlook so far.

I've seen recipes for the heather clone...google it online, I don't think there are on this site...I don't know about the second one, but I have seen the heather recipe on various sites, even one's on the history of brewing.

also go to BYO magazine and order the BYO 150 clone issure (or get it from you lhbs) it is a great resource.

Never tried it.

I haven't tried this one but I talked to a guy at my LHBS who did and he said it came out pretty good. It's from the book "Clone Brews".

Fraoch Heather Ale
5 gallons
OG 1.050 - 1.053
FG 1.011 - 1.013
IBU 17
SRM 6.5

3.3 lb Light LME
3.25 lb Light DME
4oz 55L British Crystal Malt

.5 oz Brewers Gold (60 min)
1 lb heather blossoms (60 min)
.5 oz East Kent Goldings (15 min)
.25 lb heather blossoms (15 min)
1 tea spoon Irish Mossom (15 min)
1/2 cup heather blossoms (5 min)

Wyeast 1728 Scottish Ale yeast (1st choice)
Wyeast 1084 Irish Ale yeast (2nd choice)

Prime with 3/4 cup corn sugar

BYO clone brew special has one as well. All the ones I have seen use plenty of hops. I have never seen one w/o hops, as the original is done.

I will give the BYO version a leg up because it mentions dried heather, and not fresh heather blossoms (as in Szamatulski). Dried heather is easier to get, i think

I have two heather bushes at my house. I doubt if I can get enough from those bushes though to make the recipe work.

I wonder if it matter which variety it is?
