Liquorice Stout

(6 gallon batch)
6.6lbs Light LME (added in last 15 mins of boil)
2.2lbs Dark DME
1lb Treacle
3.5oz Black patent malt
8oz Chocolate malt
1lb Roasted barley
5oz crystal malt

1.25oz Northern Brewer @ 60 mins
Yeast – Safale-04

Taste after 10 days in the keg (patience isn't my strong point!) it tastes lovely; roasted flavour, slightly bitter, follwed by a smooth liquorice finish, which I attribute the black treacle. My 7th brew and best yet by far.

Cheers

So how did it taste after it got some age on it? Got more tasting notes?

It tasted good thanks. The liquorice rounded out, but was still very much the overriding flavour. Anybody who wanted a more subtle liquorice taste, I would recommend reducing the amount suggested, but I liked it as it was.

Definintely my no1 brew to date!

Cheers
