question about stout faucets

are the use of stout faucets with the nitro used only for appearance of the pour or is there something else that I do not understand about them?
 
Nitrogen bubbles are smaller than CO2 bubbles, and you are left with a creamy mouthfeel.

Flat Guinness is pretty close to water, the nitrogen is what gives it the characteristic body.
