I have recently used toasted oak chips in an ipa. The ipa turned out wonderful. I was just curious as to how to actually toast the wood chips, or if there was and special way?

Thank,

In an oven, over a spit, over a campfire, you may have to trial and error till you get what you want.

Very soon, one week I am hoping to toast some apple chips on the grill and add them to the secondary of an amber ale I'm making. I'll let you know it turns out.

Did you sanitize your chips before addition to the secondary?

You can cook them in a little water in the microwave for a couple minutes, like steam sanitizing. If you wish, shoudn't be necessary.
