So I just mashed, sparged, and drained about 6.5 gallons of hot wort (or is it extract?) into my bottling bucket. I plan to brew it tonight. Will it be ok sitting in the bucket for a few hours? I'm just worried about the temp. It's probably 150-160 degrees. Will it be ok?

Ok, just didnt know if the plastic could handle those temps. Didnt want to leach any plasticky flavors!

Why didn't you drain it into a kettle? I've never had wort or beer that temperature in a bucket. I'm not sure, but I think it will be okay.

People mash in plastic coolers so I don't see a problem.

Haha, nice point. I didn't drain into my bk cause I had all my sparge water in it. So I needed to drain it somewhere...

Should be just fine. I've seen a person in England us a plastic bucket with a heating element as a bk lol.
