Hi all,
I am still a relatively new brewer (was about to bottle my 5th batch, 6th is in the secondary, 7th is in the primary). I switched from glass carboys to Better Bottles with the 5th batch so this is my first experience with them. There appears to be a kind of waxy residue on top of the beer in the Better Bottle - I (of course) rinsed and sanitized it before using it. This is an IPA which I brewed 8/20, left in the primary fermenter until 9/12 (3 wks, 2 days), and it's been there for not quite two weeks (a day shy). Any idea what the waxy residue could be? It doesn't look like yeasty bubbles.... I did not use soap to rinse it and used One-Step to sanitize - could it be a residue from that?
RDWHAHB?
Anyone ever seen this kind of residue before?
Thanks,
Susan
