Update: I finally got another TV. Not great, but getting better...

Love the look of the keezer too... I will definitely copy cat when I have the space! Where's the lazy boy?

Im so jealous i could punch you.

Thanks!

My wife has been very good to me.

If I had a lazyboy in there, I would never leave....ever. Even though I have a big screen tv in my living room, I watch all my football and hockey in there. Hell, I instruct the pizza delivery guy to knock on the garage door when he gets here on game day.

Thanks again for the compliments.

Sorry for resurrecting this thread once again, but here is is an update on my garage tap room. As you can see, there has been quite a few additions. Most recently, my wife gave me a custom chalk board for the door.

I am still amazed how far this project has come. Thanks to all who have inspired the various parts of the room.

Since I kinda know what it's supposed to look like, that's a fantastic room. But, those pics are very fuzzy. Maybe the host is displaying the smaller version or a thumbnail?

Thanks for the kind words. Here are some larger pics. Thanks again.

Wow, that is just awesome blue. Good for you! I wish I had a spare room to convert. Cheers!

So I figured out a way to expand my taproom to the other side of the garage while maintaining some storage space.

Also, after watching a documentary featuring some old English drinking establishments, I got the idea to add some exposed beams to the ceiling for a more "pub" feel.

Still checking craigslist for a old man, dressed in tweed, to smoke a pipe in the corner....

It's only a matter of time before you figure out a better storage solution that doesn't involve the garage... and what was once a cozy little taproom will wind up a full-fledged pub, complete with a bar and pub tables!

Brilliant work.

I don't know how I ended up here, but holy cow this is awesome. Makes me want to figure out how to make my current garage woodshop into half woodshop, half tap room.

That makes me want to get started on mine now!! Haha I have got a LONG WAY to go :p ImageUploadedByHome Brew1400466675.012796.jpgImageUploadedByHome Brew1400466686.562727.jpgImageUploadedByHome Brew1400466697.086788.jpg

All work and no beer make me a dull boy...

Here are a few pics of my 2 car garage turned man cave. I wanted/created a multi use space that was easy to keep neat and clean as i like welding, woodworking, fixing old cars, rebuilding motor cycles, and recently added beer brewing. Last pick is of the brew bench build.

I dig the OP's pub with NO windows. You can grab a beer and pretend it's not 10 am! :D All you need is some gambling and you're set!
Joking aside, it's a sweet setup. I'd live in there if I were you.

Wow very nice first class place to enjoy a home-brew. Well thought out

While I was researching stuff for one of my books,I stumbled onto this warehouse, I think in NY, that has a lot of the fixtures, wood paneling, & bars from Luchow's German restaurant. That old school Victorian paneling would be great in a home pub! http://abeautifulbar.com/luchow_restaurant_interior.htm
* After due consideration of those pieces practically being museum quality, & talking to SWMBO, we agreed on an idea I had. At one point, while I was still working at Ford in Cleveland, & thus driving back & forth, I remember a colonial house being rebuilt on the strip in Old Avon, OH. They were re-doing the entire front porch area. It was the one on the news a few years ago where the old, 18th century barn with original glass was being sold to an artist fella out of state. Taken apart & shipped piece by piece, it was cool to watch the care being taken in dissembling it.
Anyway, that whole frontal area of the house was laid up panels put together one fitted piece at a time. Watching this 20-something do this day after day until it was done was fascinating. I'd done things sort of like that in my younger days, but not that extensive. So, I thought, use some shelf panels & the right moldings to reproduce those wall panels on the back wall of my little brewery/man cave. I never got to go to August Luchow's beyond fine establishment, Which he opened & started building onto in 1882, but my heart just won't let me forget that beautiful place. Not to mention, their 70th anniversary cookbook I have, dated 1951. Lots of pics & drawings of the place in there, with some amusing stories to boot. What would you guys think of this idea? The " back" wall is the one behind the wire shelf/fermenter stand area in my videos. Maybe stain the wood wall panels honey oak, to match the houses woodwork (Georgian Colonial), or maybe antique maple?
** Here's some more links showing more of Luchow's. Even the slip cover of the book I was fortunate enough to stumble on to. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/L%C3%BCchow%27s

Just a little fodder for the imagination. I have a large, old mirror panel that might make a cool false window as well, perhaps in the central wall panel? I'm thinking of using oak wood, luan & molding material to duplicate the panels, stained honey oak? I also thought about a remark my wife made of the pics of those panels, still in place in this shot. They don't go all the way up the wall. So maybe 4' panels on the 7' wall. with painted top portion?

Can I be your new best friend? Ok, showed my wife your pictures and she gave me the permission to set this up in the basement. :ban:

I showed my wife this thread over the weekend, and she gave me permission to take over half of the garage to do this as well. Of course, she gave me a honey-do list of items that I have to knock off first before taking on this project. I'm pretty psyched!

Very nice.

I'm redoing my basement right now. I've been contemplating a bar, but I don't think I have enough room to do it right. I have a keezer already, so I'd like to use it as is.

I like that shelf idea. It creates a nice place to sit and drink without taking up a lot of space. I might steal that from you.

Do you have any pictures of what it looks like inside the garage to the pub area? i'm curious!
looks great!

Sorry about just getting back to you now. Not sure I understand your question. The pub area is the entire garage-10'X20' single car garage. Thanks.

ah sorry, didn't realize it was the whole thing now :) this is what i was referring to.

I have always wanted a bar. Unfortunately the house we currently live in has no basement, so a full bar was out of the question. My wife and I love our keezer but she feels bad having friends go to a dirty garage to get a beer. She let me clear out half our one car garage and turn it into a small tap room. She hung thermal curtains to separate it from the rest of the garage so it heats up quickly when its cold. Its only 10x10 but its my piece of heaven, especially since I now have two daughters.
