Oh what a neat thread!
Though I have not read,
All of the 101 pages,
Which would take me ages,
But interesting where it has lead!

Now it's time to up-ramp,
With this riddle from camp!
It should help you out
Starting fires, no doubt.
Have I mentioned..... I love lamp?

You can start a fire if you have alcohol, petrol, kerosene, paper, candle, coke, a full matchbox and a piece of cotton wool. What is the first thing you light?

As I get older and the posts here mount
I hope this one is new, so as to count
A perfectly good ship with 20 equally separated rungs going up and down its side like a ladder is floating in the sea. Currently, the water reaches the 9th rung. If the water level rises by 1 and 1/3 rung every 1 and 1/2 hours, how long will it take for the water to reach the upper deck?

Hope this one's fun, what the heck?

With a perfectly good ship,
Unless it breaks and takes a dip,
I would say never!
Isn't that clever?

Have a happy doomsday everyone!....

"I never was, am always to be,
No one ever saw me, nor ever will
And yet I am the confidence of all
To live and breathe on this terrestrial ball."

Ok so I will chime in and give you a riddle
something to do whilst you sit and fiddle
and ponder your time here on Earth.
Are the Myans correct, what is the worth?
Whatever it is, what comes of may
We wake to celebrate this 21st day
of December unknown
Let our hearts be light and our wrongs be unsewn
So heres to you my fellow beer kin
Merry Christmakwanzahanauka to all... let the games begin!

A man, whos son is bleeding to death, walks into a hospital with his son in his arms screaming, "Help my son is dying!" A doctor turns to help and says, "My God, he's my son!"

and so its begun...

(I apologize if this has already been done!)

Hmmm either it's the young boys mother,
Or possibly it could be another.
It could be another pa,
If gay marriage is within the law!

What I have I got in my pocket?

Or...

One man builds it but sells it
Another man buys it but doesn't use it
Another man uses it but doesn't know it.

I figured i should ask it
Do you speak of a casket?

Ill give it a try to see if I can
So riddle me this Batman

Play my music, if you dare. Turn my crank, although I'm square. Stand back, or get a scare, when you see my surprising glare. What am I?

Im not sure if it know
but I used to order burgers
from clown about to blow
(and blow-up he did for the elders here)
maybe his glare was his plastic stare?
if his heads on a spring
making children sing
then i guess i know

Well LRB
Correct you must be
Your as sly as a fox
To know its a jack in the box

Well done. Cards it is. Lets see if you do so well with this

A shimmering field that reaches far.
Yet it has no tracks,
And is crossed without paths.

Unfortunately I have to say
that you have not yet won the day
With no malice do I retort (sorry its the only word that rhymes that I can come up with)
This is a field composed of what you can measure by the quart. (though this would be an immense job)

Normally here is what I do
Find a riddle on the w/wide web
and post for you
But one of my basic rules have been
Is to generally post a riddle in which I've figured the end

Not going to do that tonight
Call me selfish and that I'm not right.
At this point i do not know
What riddle it is I'm about to sow.

So, give me a break, I'll be right back
And then a riddle I'll give, it will be our task..

hold on...

Here it goes the riddle's answer I do not know
But will be trying to get it right, along with you today and tonight bro's (and sistas too)

'Twas in heaven pronounced, and 'twas muttered in hell,
An echo caught faintly the sound as it fell;
On the confines of earth 'twas permitted to rest,
And the depths of the ocean its presence confessed;
'Twill be found in the sphere when 'tis riven asunder,
Be seen in the lightning and heard in the thunder.
'Twas allotted to man with his earliest breath,
Attends him at birth, and awaits him in death,
Presides o'er his happiness, honor, and health,
Is the prop of his house, and the end of his wealth.
In the heaps of the miser 'tis hoarded with care,
But is sure to be lost on the prodigal heir.
It begins every hope, every wish it must bound,
With the husbandman toils, and with monarchs is crowned.
Without it the soldier, the seamn may roam,
But woe to the wretch who expels it from home!
In the whispers of conscience its voice will be found,
Nor e'en in the whirlwind of passion be drowned.
'Twill not soften the heart; but though deaf be the ear,
It will make it acutely and instantly hear.
Yet in shade let it rest, like a delicate flower,
Ah... breathe on it softly, - it dies in an hour.

I was on the right track, but I gave up the chase. My brother-in-law told me right to my face. I racked my brain, on the couch I was perched. To Google he went and quickly he searched. Knowing now I wish I kept trying.
For him who solves the next ale I'll be buying.

with it your ear can hear
and hope can calm your every fear
I think I shall have a beer
And wish you all a happy new year

Clifton and Frogman have given clues maybe answers
This riddle is one of the hardest, even for my dog Prancer
I read a few lines and come up with some words that make sense
But pretty sure it is one word not different words, nor used in past tense
My rhyming and timing are getting worse, this riddle I posted is my dreaded curse
Pretty sure everybody will get it but me, will keep plugging away and soon I will see

Note to self
You're not an elf
Next time you randomly post a riddle you don't know the answer to
Be prepared to be humbled by Riddle Masters, cause Dan, you have no clue.

Congrats to lab rat and frog man.

Here's a clue for dear ol' Dan.

What could make your ear,
Instantly and simply hear?
