I kegged my amber lager (Dos Equis Amber Lager clone) today.

Filled a 2 liter bottle, then kegged the rest. I used my carbonator cap and force carbed the 2 liter.

Great way to sample the brew!

Trouble is, now that I know how good it is, waiting several weeks for it to lager will be tough.

Personally I fill the keg first, then rack into the 2 liter bottles. All I can say is go out and buy some beer you like, and drink that until your homebrew is ready. I know its hard, that is why I keep my pipeline so full I have no temptation.

I may run out for a little while, but I will have an amber lager, a light lager, a cream ale and a dunkel weizen on tap by then end of the year.

I just had a couple of pints of the amber from the 2 liter. Not bad, it will be very nice in a month.
