I had taken a couple of vine cuttings late this year and they started to grow, now one is 3ft tall another is 5ft tall.
My question is, when should they go in the ground? Should I put them in a cool, dark corner in the basement till the spring, or, plant them now and cover with hay or straw? (we get quite heavy frost and snowfall here)

Seal them in a plastic bag and keep them in the fridge, I think.....Wait a while longer, someone will come up with a super-duper real answer.

Since they have some growth on them, I'd go ahead and plant them, then cover well when the bines die-back.
