What's floating in my beer?

After a week in the primary, my first partial mash, IPA had a bunch of white globs in it. I think it's protein or something, but just curious to know what this is. I didn't really filter my beer. Only whirlpooled, then syphoned off after the boil.

My guess is...get ready, it is very technical....yeast floaties.

Clumps sometimes float up to the top to hang out for a while. I don't know why, they just do.
