Has anybody used rooting hormones, such as Rootone, on hop rhizomes? How were the results? Good, bad, not worth it?
Thanks!

Chris

I really don't think you'd need it. Rooting Hormone is usually reserved for cuttings. Hops seem to be fairly aggressive growers. Now, if you took a Rhizome and cut it into several small pieces, then stuck them in Hormone and into sterile soil, this could work fine for propagation.

I sprinkled some on mine when I planted them last Sunday just cause I had it handy. May not have needed it but why not

Can't hurt. Certainly made a difference in the survival rate of my Douglas Firs.

Real Aspirin dissolved in water and/or soaking scraped Willow branches in a bucket will yield a similar result to the powdered Hormone.
