Tying to figure out all the different Brewing terminology and use a few brewing software ads that are out there.

Just wanting to understand how I figure my Strike Temp with my Grain Bill.

Pro Mash is asking for a " LT Thermal Mass" ??

I could be totally wrong but i think thats what material it is and with a giving value "what ever it is" will effect your temps like a rubbermaid cooler will loose heat slower then a ss pot...
 
just pre-heat your tun and set the values to 0 (no thermal loss).....good to go and very accurate this way.

+1 to this. ProMash has been right on for strike temp and mash temp. I generally preheat the water to 175F and transfer to the mash tun for heating and measure the water temperature periodically until it's down to the strike temperature.
