Anything wrong with fermenting cranberry juice in the jug it came in? I want to try a couple different 1 gal. experiments before I settle on what to make 5 gal. of.
Thanks

I just bought a 1 gal. equip. kit. I don't trust the store jug

I just looked it is pasteurized. Why?
I believe it's because it should be pasteurized (either by ultraviolet light or some other method) to ferment. At the same time it should not have preservatives... hope that helps.

I should be gtg. Its pasteurised no addatives

I just fermented some cranberry myself, a 5 gallon batch though. It will be tart, but mine dried up very well. Hit 10% abv no problem with EC-1118 yeast.

I'm actually considering just going for it, and doing 5 right out of the gate. If need be I can back sweeten it some. everybody seems to like a semi sweet wine around here. I had some commercial crane this Christmas, and I thought it could use a little more body-sweetness. I CANT DECIDE!
