Who else is from the Detroit area?
Ive heard detroit water has the best ph....

I'm from Wixom and we get our water from Detroit. I sent a sample to Ward Labs last August:
pH 8.1
Na 6
K 1
Ca 30
Mg 8
Total Hardness, CaCO3 108
Nitrate NO3 1.33
Sulfate SO4 21
Cl 10
CO3 6
HCO3 97
Total Alkalinity, CaCO3 89
The pH of the tap water is pretty meaingless for all grain brewers. Its the mash pH we care about.

Live in Harper Woods. Detroit water works well. We had been brewing with it close to 20 years. You can easily treat it to match your style youre trying to achieve. We filter it with a good quality filter. Boil it and cool it , if you have the time, to get that nasty chlorine out helps too. NEVER have a bad batch because of it.

SCS here and I have always claimed that we have the best tasting water. I feel sorry for people elsewhere lol.
