I have a wine expert kit going right now, fermenting very well. Im going to have to move it to the basement tomorrow I think. My living room is the same room as my dining room, which is where my fermenters currently are.

What is that smell, sulfur?

how do you get rid of the nasty smell. i have a apfelwien batch (montrachet) and a white and a red juice wine (both with ec-1118) and i just racked all 3, nasty sulphury odor. added proper amount of crushed camden tabs, i guess time will tell. thinking about racking again in about 3 weeks to see if moving the wines will work out the odor.

It is caused by a lack of nutrients. Get yeast nutrient or energizer.

March 30 started Strawberry wine. This week i noticed the stank had gone away enough to finally try some. Still a little bit of stank so i removed the lid and covered with a clean towel. Two days later it smelled like strawberry wine. Success!
