Why are european breweries still using these bottles? I picked up a six pack of new castle and it tastes just like skunky heineken and stella.

I heard they use brown bottles for there country and ship us the clear. Kinda funny.

some breweries use them because of the skunky taste. look at heinekin

Newcastle comes in clear bottles here as well (England)

The UK craft beer scene is still in its infancy, like literally born last week infancy. We gets 'ales' which may be good in general, but differences between them are few and far between and they are usually in casks and on rare occasions some may stray into bottles.

How i'd like to be able to go to the local store and buy a 6er of craft beer like I could in the year I spent in the states.... but I can't which is partially why I home brew!

Ive had newcastle that was great, but with this crap all i could taste was the skunk!
