Hi all, my first ever gallon of mead is nearly a week old in the demijohn now. I was wondering, do I have to rack it into a another demijohn at some point? Or can I just keep it where it is for 6 months?

If you're going to rack, rack while there's still co2 in the mix. You won't hurt it by racking now--just don't contaminate it.

What's your SG? My recipe says to rack when the PA is between 3-4 which would be a SG of
1.021-1.030. It's good to keep measurements of where you started so you know where you are. Do you have your original SG value??

Hi, thanks for the replies... Tbh I don't know anything about sg or even what it is lol.
