first yeast washing attempt..

this is from the primary of a trippel washed as per the wiki tutorial. It looks like there are two distinct layers. Just wondering???? I guess I'll find out when I make a starter....

Looks pretty good to me. I find that dumping off the top after about 10 minutes gets most of the yucky stuff out. I wind up throwing away so much of what's left behind that I'm not careful to conserve. Just let the big stuff settle out for a bit and then pour off the top. Do that a couple of times and you'll have plenty of yeast.

You're right the wiki is sort of incomplete.....Sorry

I'm surprised, it should say that it should separate as it clears into distinct layers, the the liquid, the yeast and the trub, with the yeast being the creamy band on top of the trub.
