Trying to put together a strawberry blonde to brew this weekend. How does this look, I just kind of guessed on hops and hop schedule to get the desired I.B.U.

5 lbs. Belgian pilsner malt
4. white wheat
.5 crystal 10L.
.5 flaked wheat
.25 Caravienne

1.00 Oz. East Kent at 60 min.
.5 Oz. Hersbrucker at 15 min.

Yeast is going to be White labs wit beer yeast from previous brew.

After a week in the primary, Im thinking of racking onto 8 pounds of strawberry's, for a week or so. Then rack again for another week to clear.

Reduce the hops. I'd say 12 IBU's max. You're gonna have a lot invested in the strawberries, no sense in covering them up with the hops.

Ok so rice hulls, ill add that, is one pound enough?

If i cut out the Hersbrucker and reduce the first hop addition to .75 I get a 12.9 IBU will that be ok?

Thanks guys

I'd say a half pound would be "enough"... but a pound won't hurt anything.

Sounds good. Let the strawberries take center stage and be sure to keep us posted.
