So I picked up 3 pinlocks at a yard sale for $15. 2 are firestone and 1 mystery

the mystery pin lock has a full circle black top handle (like a firestone) but has Coca Cola embossed on it.

the markings are:

SAFER s.p.a.
Valmadrera -LC - made in italy

I plan to convert them to ball lock post but won't have time to tear them down for a few days. Any idea on what post threads this thing has?

I got impatient and tore it down. it has 9/16-18 threads so it took firestone conversion posts. also has a stainless 5/16 gas tube

i don't see any pins on the posts.... are you sure those aren't ball lock connections?

as i said

I just never encountered this manufacturer before and it doesn't look like its been in use for decades like most kegs (one tiny dent) even the molded rubber still has some molding flash. is this a recent production or was it hidden away for decades?

It's a newer pinlock. The newer ones are usually marked safer or aeb. It should actually have the same thread as a ball lock Cornelius keg.

Reviving an old thread. I bought a reconditioned Ball Lock keg from Midwest last December with these same markings - "SAFER S.P.A. Made in Italy". Could this be a converted (from Pin Lock) keg? Reason I ask, I broke one of the poppets. MW sells a universal poppet but it does not work on converted ball lock kegs. Guessing it might work on this one if its a new Pin lock with same threads as a ball lock. Thoughts?
