I plan on buying the 1/2 inch auto-siphon, and was wondering about the tubing size I would need. I've read that I need 1/2 inch and somewhere else I saw 7/16 inch. Any help would be appreciated.

I have 1/2 inch, and I feel it's a good size. I don't mind some trub in my primary, but if you do I would look at a screen or filter of some sorts. Smaller size tubing tends to get clogged on the siphon end, so bigger is better. Too big and it's a pain to start, hence why I am happy with my 1/2 inch.

Thanks for the replies. I didn't know if was better to go smaller for a better fit or not. I guess I'll try the 7/16 id tube.
