Just got a $200 Home Depot gift card for christmas and i'm looking to upgrade my equipment. Right now I am stovetop based with a 5gal kettle. I've been wanting to go the propane burner with a full boil and found the stuff below on homedepot.com. Any thoughts on how these will translate to brewing are much appreciated.

If I had a 200 dollar gift card for home depot, I would go with

I actually might go get that now. I like the doubles because they give you a lot more versatility. Plus if you can have one heating up strike water (much faster than a stovetop), whilst the other heats sparge water or is boiling another beer :)

I'd go double.

I was leaning that way as well. Do you know if both burners are equivelent to the sp10? i've been reading alot about the sp10 and sq14 on here the last few days and still don't know what is best for me. I'm not handy enough to build a stand so I like the double option you suggested. I do not have my bigger kettle yet, so i'm open to best burner and will get a kettle to maximize.

How much weight can that double support? I'd hate to have 15 gallons boiling and have it tip over and waste the beer.

I have been using a similar type for 3 years. While it is a bit cramped with 2 keggles it still works like a champ. I am considering lowering mine somehow but haven't figured out how I wanna do it.
Remember to post pics of it in action if you get it.

long overdue update. I went with the SQ14 and love it. Used with a 7.5 kettle for 8 batches and have since upgraded the kettle to 15gal. The burner has easily boiled 12gal of wort. I do regret not going with the double though, because I have since fallen in love with partigyle brewing and the 2nd burner would be a huge time saver.
