Hello all. I am going to brew an American Style Light Beer and add some cucumber flavor to it. Would it best to use dextrose or spray dry malt, and about how much? Just curious as to the pros/cons/benefits of using one over the other for this type of beer.

Any feedback is greatly appreciated!

Thanks!
Aaron

Neither dextrose nor dry malt extract will deliver a cucumber flavor.:p

I think we need more details.

I already know how to get the cucumber flavor in the beer, using fresh cucumbers after fermentation. Just wondering if it is best to use dextrose or spray dry malt with this kind of beer while making the wort?

Thanks
Aaron

Maybe.

That's like asking if it's better to use flour or sugar when cooking.

Are you asking for a base recipe?

In order for it to be a "beer" i think you have to use some sort of malt product

Sorry sent that to soon. Do you suggest a different type of light beer that I should use for a cucumber beer?

You're probably onto something with the matchup of a gossamer beer style with a delicate fruit like cucumber.
