Just brewed a fat tire ale, and am trying to keep the temp. down in the fermentor. I have bought a big plastic bucket, and have placed the fermenter in it. How much water should I add to the bucket. 1 foot up; all the way up to the thermometer, ect.

any help is great, I having trouble keeping my temps down.

Thanks

When using this system, I filled the tub about eight inches and then placed frozen soda bottles in the water to cool it and the fermenter. Experiment.

The more water, the higher the cooling capacity.
Also harder to get rid of after fermentation is done due to the weight.

Avoid getting the fermometer wet as some people have experienced failure after submersion.

I just got parts to make Yooper's lagerator as this looks like a much more efficient system.
