Does ground pumpkin pie spices added in the last 15 minutes of the boil add astringency to beer? Should I use whole spices, or is it okay to use the already powdery spice mixtures?

Check out the threads on pumpkin beer. The topic is discussed thoroughly. I like to use whole spices and do a rough crush with a mortar and pestle. Others are fine with powdered spice mixes. I use whole spices for cooking so I'm kind of partial to that.

Thanks for the reply. I've read tons of the posts on pumpkin beer here. Most talk about the differences between using whole pumpkin, canned, or just spices. I am planning on just spices, but I wanted to know if adding just the spices, in a powdered form would give me off flavors and astringency.
