Sounds about right as far as the Alphas and the Characteristics are concerned. If not, what would be better?
In my opinion, there is really no substitute for Simcoe - it is in a class of its own.
Although high AA%, I have found Galena to be rather neutral for the times I've used it.

This really is the truth, I haven't found another hop like Simcoe.
Sucks, but I can't find Simcoe ANYWHERE. Going with Horizon.
Typical alpha: 12.0-14.0%. Very new, super-high alpha hop with an earthy, slightly resinous aroma—sometimes described as "new mown hay."
I recently planned a beer with simcoe and NB didn't have it so I subsituted Newport.
Galena is supposed to be citrusy, right? Simcoe is piny isn't it? edit: never mind, apparently it is also citrusy. Glad I went with the Newport then, it sounds more like what I had in mind.
