im looking at getting a kettle and not sure what size to get. currently im just brewing 2.5 gal extract batches and want to eventually step up to 2.5 gal BIAB and be able to do 5 gal extract as well.

would a 7.5-8 gal pot be best? also should i look for a taller one or shorter?

thanks for the help

20 quart is about the biggest pot i would use on my stovetop. should be plenty big for 2.5 biab and fine for 5 gallon extract, but would be a stretch for 5 gallon biab.

I use a 10 gal on my stove but only have boiled 4.5gals on the stove. 8 would be about right, plenty of room.
