I have a traditional bock lagering right now and am planning on adding some oak cubes. I was planning on adding 2 oz of medium toast french oak for about 10 days and then bottling. I will be taking this beer to a homebrew competition/party, so I will only be able to bottle condition for about 1 month. Is this even enough time to get a hint of oak from the cubes or just forgo them?

You'll get oak if you add oak. A month is probably enough for a hint of oak, if you want it noticeable you may want to add more or keep it on longer if you want it intense.

thanks, it's a friendly competition among friends so as long as I like the brew, all that matters

10 days is almost nothing with cubes. If you need flavor faster, I'd consider chips.

I've used medium toast American cubes for 14 days for a nice delicate oak flavor.

IMO, cubes give a better more complex flavor than chips.

Maybe consider just adding more cubes?
