After minimal research, and a quick jaunt to Widmer's website, I created a recipe for a Pitch Black Clone in BeerSmith. I was hoping I could get some critique and feedback. My buddy really loves this beer, and I am getting him into homebrewing slowly, so I thought this would be a great beer to brew with him.
Here she goes:
Recipe Specifications
--------------------------
Batch Size: 5.50 gal
Boil Size: 7.39 gal
Estimated OG: 1.064 SG
Estimated Color: 27.6 SRM
Estimated IBU: 66.6 IBU
Brewhouse Efficiency: 82.00 %
Boil Time: 60 Minutes

Ingredients:
------------
9.70 lb Pale Malt (2 Row) US (2.0 SRM) Grain 80.83 %
0.90 lb Caramel/Crystal Malt - 10L (10.0 SRM) Grain 7.50 %
0.80 lb Carafa II (412.0 SRM) Grain 6.67 %
0.60 lb Special Roast (50.0 SRM) Grain 5.00 %
0.50 oz Magnum [14.00 %] (60 min)
0.50 oz Warrior [15.00 %] (60 min)
0.50 oz Warrior [15.00 %] (10 min)
0.75 oz Magnum [14.00 %] (10 min)
0.75 oz Cascade [5.50 %] (10 min)
1.00 oz Cascade [5.50 %] (0 min)
0.50 oz Warrior [15.00 %] (0 min)
0.50 oz Magnum [14.00 %] (0 min)-
1.00 oz Cascade [5.50 %] (Dry Hop 3 days)
2liter starter of California Ale (White Labs #WLP001)

Any suggestions or comments? I have yet to brew one of these, and there isn't a ton of info floating around the interwebs, so this was a slightly guided stab in the dark.
Thanks guys!

I usually think of both Warrior & Magnum as fairly clean bittering hops & not really flavor or aroma hops. If it were me, I'd think about boosting the Cascade since that is the classic IPA hop & a Cascadian Dark is really an IPA with some dark malts.

Widmer lists their hops used on their webpage:
BITTERING: Alchemy
AROMA: Alchemy, Cascades
DRY HOP: Cascade T-45

Alchemy is supposedly a mixture of Warrior & Magnum, which is why I put those in there. The beer doesn't have an overwhelming cascade flavor to it, but one thing about this recipe, I was definitely unsure about the percentages of hops. I'll definitely take upping the Cascade additions into consideration.
