Waiting for the pasta to finish cooking. Sipping on a hand-made IPA

This is my favorite sort of meal - see what's in the pantry and go with it. Picked a bunch of tomatoes and basil from the garden. Sauted it with some homemade sausage that was in the freezer, garlic, onion, olive oil and sea salt. Toss with the pasta and some Parmesan cheese.

Fresh, tasty, and good for us.

Yesterday I had roasted red pepper pesto on linguine and balsamic-caramelized cherry tomatoes with a chunk of focaccia bread. All straight from the garden.

Tonight I am having oatmeal and toast. Got to balance the good with the easy.

I've been eating like a saint in order to drop a few pounds. But tonight I am making Steak Frites with shallot and chive compound butter washed down with a bottle of New Glarus R&D Golden Ale.

Life is indeed good.
