Technically there is no difference in crime here than the kid that cracked Palin's yahoo password. Although the maximum penalty of "five years in prison or a fine up to $5,000." is outrageous for this sort of crime.
 
I just find it interesting that she 'killed' a virtual character. What a strange world we live in. It always amazes me how much stock people have put into these virtual realms.
